GuitarTown guitar – “Georgia on My Mind”

Gwenda Helgert_Georgia On My MindLes Paul often performed Georgia on My Mind at the Iridium in Manhattan. It is also featured in the HBO special Les Paul and Friends: He Changed the Music (1988), with Les Paul playing this as a duet with Stanley Jordan. This song is referenced in the Les Paul memorial posted on the site in the comment by Tommy Shaw.

This design is also an homage to Wisconsin artist Georgia O’ Keeffe, referencing some of her better recognized images.

Finally, the image of O’Keeffe’s cow skull is a reminder that Waukesha was once known as “Cow Town”.

Guitar Front:
The central image is that of a large cow skull, softened by a large petunia. There are two morning glories on either side of the skull.

Guitar Back:
The back is dominated by a very large purple petunia with neck covered in stylized clounds and sky topped with a large calla lily.

Neck & Headstock:
The neck is covered with stylized clouds and sky and topped with a calla lily.
